You will never be cooler than when you own an Alfa.
All those looks, all those jokes, all that sarcasm. But you know, it’s all jealousy. They don’t have the courage to be an Alfa owner. Only if they knew how easy it is to be one. Yeah, the service interval needs to be kept with medical accuracy, yes you need to check fluids and condition weekly, yes, you cannot use cheap spares (not that you can find that) but in return you get this!! You get that guy you never met on the street before smiling at you, you get Porsche owners looking at you with that look. That look that you want. That look is the reason why you buy this car. Those other Alfa owners that you form a bond with, only from seeing their Alfas. That salute you every time you meet in traffic. And the questions!! Always the same questions, but they don’t bother you anymore. They make you happy actually. Because you know. You know that you want the attention. You want people to look up to you and be jealous. I do!!
The servicing costs are no more than another premium brand. If you compare this costs with an Vauxhall, you don’t deserve this car. Running costs, the same.
This shouldn’t be a car, just a car. This should be your Alfa. It is my Alfa, and I don’t want to sell it. Why would I? I just have to, because i can’t keep it. No space anymore, and i have a bike, so the car gets less and less usage. And that is like a sin with this car. So...here we are.
Black, with RED leather. Find one the same. I dare you. There a just a few in UK, and less for sale. Look it up. I double dare you. You know what that means? It is even rarer that you thought. Exclusivity you can afford.
New exhaust, new gear linkages for quiet and smooth operation. New MAF, new LAMBDA, 2 new COIL PACKS, all new SPARK PLUGS (NGK), new rear brake disks and pads and handbrake cables, new battery and other bits and bobs. Serviced twice in the last 7k miles, and i would recommend another in the next 3k. Cam belt and water pump done at 61k. Fresh MOT this last few days.
Bad bits?
It’s and Alfa, so there is no bad bit.
But, you could say that there are a few not so good bits.
It was a CAT D sometimes in 2013 i believe. The guy told me it was a OSR damage and showed me a picture. I don’t have that picture. Sorry. Wasn’t bad.
The idle is a bit lumpy. It is a direct injection engine, and it will never be smooth. I spent close to £1500 to smooth it out. Was told recently by Alfa Aid Maidenhead it is injector No. 4, I chose not to fix that due to costs. Spent to much already. So i learnt to live with it. And for me it’s just how it is.
Recent oil leak from rocker cover gasket, i have bought the gasket but did not install it since i don"t use the car anymore.
Some rusty bits here and there, and some paint imperfections. Like an aging Italian guy. Not perfect, but charismatic and full of character.
There is a full HPI check that i can send upon request. I did it, so you don’t have to. There is no finance on it.
I can discuss offers, but keep i mind that i don’t want to sell the car, i just can’t keep it. And if i can find a good reason to keep it i will. So, keep that in mind when you put in an offer.
Like i sad, you will never be cooler than when you own an Alfa.
I will never again be cooler than this. And that is my burden to carry.
