EXTERIOR
Resplendent in Paris Blue Metallic, the Cerbera’s ultra-sleek profile looks sensational under our studio lighting. The glossy paintwork retains a lovely uniFORm shine all round, with chip-prone areas including the front bumper, headlight clusters, door mirror covers, and leading edge of the bonnet still protected by the original Amourfend Paint Protection Film (PPF). Looking closely there are relatively few imperfections to be found, the worst being a small mark on the driver’s A-pillar and a little grazing beneath the front bumper. Still looking sharp at 54k miles the car presents extremely well overall, with a tidy underside free from any of the common structural corrosion.
INTERIOR
The seats are trimmed in supple Magnolia Hide, with leather extending to the transmission tunnel, instrument pod, and dash. The upholstery is remarkably unworn throughout with only some light marking on the driver’s bolster hinting at the mileage. The dashboard was designed especially FOR the Cerbera and sports a two-spar steering wheel with all instruments conveniently located FOR optimal driver feedback; the dark blue wheel shows almost no wear to the buttons or leather rim. Pleasingly all the switchgear operates exactly as indented, with the factory air con still blowing icy cold.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Cerbera Speed Six was the first car to be fitted with TVR"s own straight six. With its 4-litre capacity and near 350hp it rockets the car from 0-60mph in little over 4 seconds. This 54k mile example has been well maintained throughout its life, most recently benefitting from a full service, all new suspension, and a reconditioned power steering rack. This work was carried out by marque specialist Fernhurst TVR at a cost of over £3,500. The MOT is valid until June 2020.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Cerbera sits on 18-inch TVR Spider alloys that fill the arches perfectly. They look stunning finished in bright silver and display only a little marking to the nearside front – a perfectionist may choose to refurb. The wheels are wrapped in matching Toyo Proxes T1-R tyres all round, each one with at least 7mm of tread remaining. The AP Racing brakes perFORm well on test, stopping the car quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by the TVR Centre in Barnet, the Cerbera was first registered in March 2001. The accompanying dealer invoice shows the original sales price of £46,300 to include over £5,600 of factory options; these include air conditioning, extended leather, twin headlights, a heated windscreen, and PPF to the front end.
The Cerbera has now driven just 54k miles from new in the hands of only three careful owners. It was most recently serviced by Fernhurst TVR in June 2019 at 54,742 miles; all four shock absorbers and springs were also replaced at this time. Upon arrival at 4 Star the car was fully inspected and found to be in excellent mechanical health, with the only negative to report being a small weep from the power steering rack. The rack has now been replaced by Fernhurst Motors at a cost of over £1,500.
