Here for sales is my Grande Punto 1.9 Multijet 130.
The car has covered 213041 miles from new and has been a faithful servant from the time I bought it. My new car forces the sale and as the mileage indicates its covered a lot of ground. The car is MOT"d until the end of November and the only advisory was a discoloured offside indicator.
The full leather interior is ok and could be classed as fair condition, the back seats are perfect as is the passenger front seat but the drivers seat has a wear on the bolster shown in the pictures but other than that its pretty straight. The steering wheel and gear knob are showing the usual Fiat PU leather peeling problems but unlike a lot of these Punto"s the wear has only occurred over the last 6 months.
Since owning the car from new I can honestly say that I have had very little problem with it and over the years I have had it I have only had to spend in the region of £1500 and that includes wear and tear items like brakes, shocks and coil springs.
One thing that does seem to happen on these is the front coil springs break and I have replaced them twice, the last time was before the MOT last year I think so there are a few miles left in them yet. The fan for the heater was changed a couple of years back as this seems to be a common failure too along with the alternator which is about 18 months old, the radiator was changed a couple of years ago after a bird decided to impale itself through the front grill and destroyed it.
It has a strong engine and still pulls like a train through the gears but the gearbox is showing signs of wear now although it still works in every gear with no crunching. These cars seem to have a problem where the gearbox (that is common to a lot of cars including the Vauxhall Astra) lets go after 20000 miles or so but this one is only just starting to show the tell tale signs of wear. It will need a new clutch because as many miles that this car has done, it still has the original.
The tyres and brakes are ok but will need replacing and there seems to be an issue with the handbrake, it only seems to operate properly on one side of the car but the rear callipers are only 2 years old so I think its an issue with the cable. It went through the MOT last year with no issue.
The climate control doesn"t work but it probably just needs re gassing.
The body work is in relatively good condition for its age and mileage but there are stone chips on the bonnet, one of which has gone rusty along with a deep scratch that someone kindly etched into it. The glow plugs need changing but I have set that I will supply with the car, I haven"t had time to change them but Fiat quoted me £68 to do the work.
The car comes with a decent standard fitment sound system which can play MP3 and link to iPods and iPhones with an adaptor. It also has the Blue & Me bluetooth voice controlled communication system for hands free calling and media control.
