vehicle description:

Lancia DELTA 1.3LX. *Relisted due to the buyer not being able to collect. If you"re bidding, please make sure you know how far Cornwall is from you!*
Barn find. Probably rarer to find a standard model than an Integrale or HF Turbo! It has been dry stored for at least 15 years. It needs a restoration or could be a good donor car to use the right hand drive parts to convert an Integrale. As far as DELTA"s go, this isn"t a bad example to start with for a project car.
The car is located in Launceston, Cornwall.
Please have a look for yourself with this walk around video (which includes a good look underneath) copy and paste this link into your browser to view: https://youtu.be/Ag6LT85rvhg or if you"re on a PC, the video is at the bottom of the description.
Since bringing it out of storage, I have made the following observations:
BodyworkGenerally pretty good to be fair. Structurally the only issue is that most of the drivers sill needs welding and the rear wheel arch needs replacing. The passenger side, chassis, floor, boot floor etc all seem good.
The rest of the body has odd rust spots and there is corrosion around the windscreen including a hole. there is corrosion and a hole on the tailgate, there is some corrosion on the sunroof but no holes. There"s nothing too drastic. Especially for a 1980"s Lancia!
EngineThe engine had an oil and filter change and a reconditioned starter motor before firing up for the first time (a video of the first fire up in 15 years is available should you wish to see it). It starts, runs and sounds OK but could do with a good service and general look over. The cam belt hasn"t been changed. It has coolant overheating issues but is fine if you run it for no longer than 5 or so minutes. Quite likely the thermostat needs replacing but could need further investigation.
TransmissionThere is quite a bad clutch drag, so you have to start it in gear but the car will hold still with the clutch depressed. Once moving, all 5 gears can be selected and it appears to drive OK.
BrakesAll the brakes will need a complete overhaul
SuspensionNo obvious issues but can"t guarantee how long the rubber bushes will last after being stood still for so long!
TyresAll need replacing. Some have good tread but they have been sat flat for many years and the sidewalls are weakened. The date codes are between 1996-99! I"d hate for anyone to think they"re ok and blow them out on the motorway. GlassThe windscreen has been hit by vandals during its time in storage, so it is covered in cracks. The rest of the glass is all fine.
InteriorAll the instruments and switches seem to work fine, even the electric front windows and central locking still works. The trim appears complete apart from the parcel shelf. The seats let the interior down as they are all either heavily worn or have tears.
PaperworkI have the V5C logbook in my name. It is currently SORN but you will have to do it again yourself once it is registered in your name. I have none of the owners handbooks or service records. I have one set of keys.
At the end of the auction, I would appreciate it if the winning bidder could make contact at your earliest convenience. A Paypal deposit of £50 will confirm your genuine bid. Collection is the buyers responsibility, so please make sure you can get someone with a trailer or recovery truck to collect it from Launceston, Cornwall ASAP.
I hope I have given you a fair description of the car and that you understand what you"re taking on. This is a project or donor car and not a car you can just jump in and drive home. Therefore, there is no warranty offered.
The car is currently stored at my work for convenience but it is in no way connected with my work, this is my own private car.
If you have more questions or would like to take a look, please message me. Thank you.
