“THIS IS A 1984 LAND ROVER WHICH HAS BEEN REBUILT BY SOMEONE ELSE. WE HAVE GIVEN IT A ONCE OVER AND CORRECTED A COUPLE OF MINOR POINTS. THE ONLY FAULT WE ARE AWARE OF IS THAT THE SYNCROMESH ON 3RD GEAR IS SLIGHTLY WEAK BUT THIS IS ONLY NOTICEABLE IF YOU HURRY THE GEAR CHANGE.”

LAND ROVER 110 HARDTOP 1984 VEHICLE FITTED WITH DISCOVERY 200TDI ENGINE. MOT TO FEBRUARY 2017 AS IT STANDFS BUT IF WE GET OUR ASKING PRICE WE WILL PUT A FULL NEW MOT ON THE 110.THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A CAREFUL REBUILD BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT AND HAS MANY FEATURES WHICH A LAND ROVER ENTHUSIAST WILL APPRECIATE AND UNDERSTAND. The last owner was doing it up to a good standard as a long term keeper. The first owner appears to have been Kingston Borough Council who sold it on in 1992 after when there are only two other owners. This helps to explain the excellent state of the chassis and bulkhead. I am not sure if the doors are original or have been replaced but they are all in good condition too and one key sorts out all the locks! The door tops are the rare removable aluminium early 110 type and also in very good condition. New chequer plate, side and rear steps, lights, trims etc were fitted and there is an adjustable height Dixon Bate tow bar. A small Ryders International electric winch sits behind the front bumper and works. The only down sides are a slightly weak syncromesh on 3rd gear but this only appears if you hurry the gearchange and the fact that it still has the original 1.666:1 transfer box ratio so maximum speed is 74mph. You could fit a 1.1410:1 ratio transfer box if you wanted more relaxed cruising speeds. The 1.666:1 ratio does make it very good for towing however! We have a thick file of receipts and maintenance records right back to 1984. The seats have covers on them but are in good condition and there is plenty of sound-deadening i the cab and rear body. All in all this is way above average.
