I am selling an Azure Blue S1 Lotus Elise Sport 160, 2000 X Reg, with 6961 miles on the clock, that I inherited from my late father.
He purchased the car as CAT C with less than 1000 miles on the clock; we understand the car was damaged during transportation. He was a life-long enthusiast, preparing cars for motor sport and competing in hill climbs and sprints.
He undertook a full re-shell of theLotus with the undamaged components swapped onto a second-hand chassis. We have a number of sales receipts for the new replacement parts bought from Dick Lovett, a Lotus dealer near Swindon. It was only used as a weekend car, then SORNed, used again during 2012/2013, then SORNed again and due to my father’s ill health put in dry storage. We have the majority of the SORN paperwork and MOT slips.
I live and work in London with no storage space and owing to us having to sell the family home, unfortunately the car is very much surplus to requirements, hence the sale.
Over the last few months I have spent approx £2100 on new parts and work carried out by CCM, a reputable garage in Surrey, which included:
· New battery
· Fuel pump and fuel filter
· Fuel tank clean
· HT leads and spark plugs
· Oil filter and oil change
· Idle air control valve service
· Windscreen replaced by specialist – as it was chipped
The car was MOT’d last month and runs well. I understand there were only 319 Sport 160’s ever made and this must be one of the lowest mileage S1’s on the road!
There are a few points which a new owner might want to address – paint bubbling on the rear boot lid, a few scratches and some light crazing in a few small patches.
The seats are lightweight, racing style and there are a few places where the cloth has delaminated from the seat.
The sale also includes the following spare parts, including brake discs and oil filters.
Should you wish, the car will be available to view from 1pm Saturday 18th to 1pm Sunday 19th August by appointment only, but can only be test driven with full, valid Comprehensive Insurance.
Payment is by Bank Transfer only and keys will be released when the monies have cleared.
