Lotus Elise S2 2001 Road / track car
MOT February 2020 and currently taxed.Very good AD07 road tyres, good on track too!Alloy wheel upgrade to the later model.Adjustable suspension fitted (quite stiff at the moment)Wind screen is cracked but passed MOT as not in the zone to fail.
So the good bit...the car shows around 93k on clock. When I bought the car from the nice man the car developed an issue (it already had!) and it broke down on my way home. Turned out the bottom end had gone and piston 3 had broken. Also turns out that this engine was not the first to be in the car. Once we knew this we sourced a low mileage MGF 135hp TF engine from a car that was perfectly road legal but was traded in as part of the scrappage scheme with only 44,000 miles on it. During the fitting the rear clam was removed and the chassis was cleaned properly ready for the new engine. Most of the old fixings were either wrong or had not been replaced at all. Everything has been put back as it should be.
All work carried out by local Lotus Specialist.
Car runs and handles very well and pulls as it should with its upgraded, higher horse power engine. Clutch is good and bites properly. A full service was carried out on the new engine and cambelt replaced. There is a free oil change to come as well if your"e local.
The paint work is good but a little tired in places, was properly painted all over not just the outside. I have some paint and codes from previous keeper if its required.The car also has a Lotus Exige rear wing from a 2011 onwards car.
