Been totally reliable - brilliant car....
MOT until end of August, taxed for 1 month ( new rules )
Bad points:
Tatty - body work generally tatty - a rust seam along the bottom of a couple of doors, various dings, chips etc - a small area has been resprayed on the OSR wing etc etc
The interior has the usual wear on the drivers seat bolster... it needs cleaning etc
This has been used as a work horse and it shows...please don"t come and start pointing little things out - it is what it is, a cheap, tatty, well used work horse.
In addition, the rear fuel pump has stopped working, so although it drives it can cut out if you accelerate harshly, especially up hill - and to start it you need to turn the ignition on for a few seconds to allow the front fuel pump to build up pressure - all works fine if you have more than quarter of a tank of fuel though.
The washer jets have stopped working - probably a fuse.
There are two bonnet locks on these cars and a common problem is for the cable to slacken on one of them preventing the bonnet from opening ... this happened and i had to force it open and remove the broken lock - the bonnet is a bit distorted where i did this and it now only locks on one lock - also, the release catch in the car has broken so the plastic surround has been removed and you have to open the bonnet with a pair of pliers on the bare cable ends.
The rear two tyres are NOT LEGAL - they are down to the braiding on the outsides - the tracking on the rear obviously needs doing - therefore the car will need to be towed to the nearest tyre shop to have them replaced.
