I’ve has this car nearly 8 years and it’s never let me down. Surprisingly quick and huge amounts of torque coupled to ‘Tardis’ levels of interior and boot space. Fantastic motorway cruiser, very smooth and stable with amazing brakes. Annually serviced and repaired as needed. Recently had new wishbones, shocks and exhaust. Current mileage is 157,201. Apart from the specific exceptions listed below the condition is very good for the age but there are obviously minor marks and defects here and there as you would expect. I have bought a new car but otherwise I would still be using this and fixing the minor problems confident I’d get many more miles out of the vehicle. Starts and runs perfectly, no nasty smoke or other problems as the engine is solid. Sold with 12 months MOT.
Bad Points
The selector fork on 6th gear is worn and it will jump out of gear under load. This is 6th gear only and the rest of the gearbox is fine. Legal driving on UK roads doesn’t need the 6th gear and it isn’t a problem for normal use of the car. If you are ever abroad then top speed for good fuel economy is about 85 with 95 about the max you could use. The parts to repair for access to the full speed range are cheap if you able to do it yourself but otherwise it will be a few hundred pounds of labour charges to replace.
There are two seams split on the interior seats. There is a minor one (about 2 inches long) on the rear passenger side and a major one on the passenger seat (see photo). The rear one could be repaired but the front seat will need a new cover for the base.
There is a dent on the front of the bonnet (see photo) and a scrape on the bumper which were Cat C.
Air conditioning isn’t working.
