Reliable MX-5 convertible regretfully for sale only due to being given use of another more modern MX-5 and not having space for both!
Needs a new roof (reflected in the price), and the paintwork suffeRed when I put a cover on it and the sunlight damaged the lacquer a couple of years ago (apparently a bit of a problem with MX-5s of this age). I have made some minor repairs which are only visible close-up (see photos). The alloys are perhaps showing their age a little, but that"s only to be expected at 14 years old.
It"s always been mechanically excellent and hasn"t caused me any bother. The engine warning light sometimes comes on to tell me there is a glow-plug issue - which being a petrol engine it doesn"t have... I"ve got a fault detector that I check it with and delete. I"ve had it checked professionally several times and there is nothing wrong other than an occasionally temperamental warning light.
The car has heated seats (great in the winter) and a CD multichanger. The boot fits a suitcase and I"ve been on holiday in it several times which was a lot of fun.
I have full MOT documentation for the four years that I have owned it - it passed its last MOT with no work needed.
If you want a fun cheap and cheerful convertible which is great to drive and you"re not botheRed about complete cosmetic perfection, then this is the car for you.
