We have enjoyed this little car enormously since buying it 7 years ago. It has been reliable, economical and very brisk. (150bhp 16valve engine is sweet as a nut). It has taken us to the south of France when the children were small. The reason for selling the car is because the children have grown up, and are too big now!
I have carried out all the work on the Megane, including a timing belt change as soon as we got it; not a job I would rush to do again, however. Discs, pads, exhaust, lambda sensor, brake lines and tyres in recent years.
Minus points:- As mentioned earlier, it could do with a replacement rear plastic screen, (although it was like this when we bought it), the heater motor needs (probably) new brushes, there is a slight bump on the offside wing (again, there when we bought it) and there is wear on the driver"s seat.
Plus points:- It is a lorra lorra fun! Brisk performance, roof works perfectly, brakes, steering, gearbox, clutch, engine, suspension are all fine.
Not looking for a fortune for it; would rather an enthusiast bought it and looked after it! MOT until July 9th. Presently on SORN and not insured so cannot take it for an extra test. I have no concerns about its passing in the future.
