For sale: my totally standard, UK, Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000. Full Service History with 16 stamps and supporting paperwork (see details below). Cam belt and water pump changed 12,000 miles ago in Nov 2015. It has covered just 94,800m, and is in superb condition for its age .
This is a year 2000, face-lift, UK-spec Impreza – the last of the Classic GC8 shape sold in the UK. This means it has the phase 2 version of the EJ20 engine (producing 215bhp), improved gearbox (stiffer casing, and extra engine mounting points), 17 Speedline alloys, the higher rear wing, all ‘crystal’ style front lamps, deeper front bumper, larger 294mm brakes, slightly firmer suspension, and a factory fitted Thatcham Cat 1 immobiliser and alarm.
Given all the above revisions, Evo magazine (May 1999) went as far as calling this run-out model “a semi-STI Impreza”, and Car magazine (Jan 1999) summed it up perfectly for me: “Character is the Impreza’s ace card – the extraordinary flat four that’s like nothing else on the road... close to a car enthusiast’s idea of perfection”.
The car has never been buggered about with - it is completely standard, even the exhaust. I spent ages looking for this car, and was able to speak at length to the previous owner who had it from 2012 - I can provide his phone number if required. I have owned the car for a little over two years, and have loved every minute of it. It’s never put a foot wrong, and is rock solid. It has recently had all new brakes – refurbed front four pot callipers, and new disks/pads all round.
Bodywork is in superb condition for its age - very few marks, and only one small rust patch on the right rear arch (common problem - shown in photo). The interior is mint - they seem to wear really well. Everything works including air con being nice and cold. Last service was done in November. And it is MOT’d until Dec 19 (no advisories).
Two working keys/fobs, and a huge amount of paperwork/history.
I won"t say that the car was religiously run on V-Power, but it"s been mainly run on V-Power, and unlike most, I keep the receipts to prove it.
