The original factory press car for the convertible model, complete with two articles on this car  (the magazines are included in the sale):
MotorSport took delivery of the demonstrator on a Friday evening in the rain. The reporter sat in a two hour traffic jam with the hood up before he managed to get onto the open road. And at that time there were no outside mirrors! He hated it, as I am sure I would have done in the same situation!
Auto Carpublished a four page comparison with cars in the same bracket – Porsche 911, Triumph TR4, Morgan +8, Scimitar GTC – and seriously loved the Tasmin. In fact it came out best in all categories bar one – MPG. This was sorted before it went out again!
The car has had a bare chassis up re-build. The body has been off, the outriggers have been replaced and it has been anodised and black painted. There are invoices for the parts and, where work was done outside, for the work. It has had the engine and starter motor re-built, the gearbox rebuilt, new springs and shocks and was trimmed in dark blue by Gary Creasey of Hoods and Trims in Wheathampstead with only the seats yet to be trimmed. The hood is new and there is a hood cover in order to keep off bird poo when it is parked.
It is supplied on the original alloys re-conditioned, painted and polished and new Falken tyres.
This is a lovely car complete with as full a history and will come with a full MoT, which will take a few days from agreement to purchase.
To be done: tracking, front and rear and the battery is really too small for the car.
The upsides are many and various, but mainly, it is a tremendous fun drive and draws loads of attention.
The downside: people make me very cross by making comments about it being a KitCar. It isn’t and never has been a KitCar!!! It was built by wonderful professionals, who knew all about how to build a sports car in a splendidly low tech factory in Blackpool. It’s the business – and remember - it is better than the 911 and the +8! It has no power steering, which gives wonderful feel on the road.
After all this, I have to sell the car as a result of a serious health issue. Someone will be getting the benefit of a lot of love, hard work and outlay.
The registration number is TAZ 5590 and the original number was TVR 22.
