Here is my beloved TVR Tuscan.
After seeing the film "Swordfish" about 15 years ago I decided at one point in my life I"d own this car. It has been a joy to have and to drive, despite the issues I was pre-warned about that TVR"s are notorious for.
I"m selling the car as I will soon be moving house and selling this car will help with the finances.
I have owned the car almost 2 years and have learned a lot about it in that time, primarily that it needs to be used more often then I have done. I put it into storage through both winters I have had it for and it has developed some electrical issues that will need attention caused by the battery becoming flat for so long, such as:
Immobilizer has to be deactivated using the stick rather than the fob, needs to be re-paired to the systemDashboard now reads about 50 miles as it reset itself whilst at the garage I had it undergoing other corrective issues (actual mileage 39000)Dashboard will occasionally display "EFI Fault" again this has arisen since having the display fired back into life once energized after the battery going flatMy Mechanic pointed out that a lot of the electrical problems I was experiencing was due to water ingress above the fuse box, he has recommended this be replaced
I have references for all the information above. Firstly the mechanic who worked on the car and secondly a local TVR dealer who has driven the car and has offered to sell it on my behalf, however I would have had to pay 10% commission on the sale which I declined.I will pass the details of the references to anyone who requests it, should you require detailed information.
I unfortunately don"t have the time to organise the work to be carried out myself, these issues will obviously have an impact on the selling price and I have obtained quotes for the corrective work necessary, allowing me to gauge the value of the car against current market prices, but also taking into account the colour which is rare and in my opinion the only colour I would have ever bought this car in.
The engine has undergone the much needed rebuild, which as I am sure most of you are aware is necessary to change out faulty parts . This was carried out at STR8 SIX.
All documentation is in order, FSH, two keys, owners log book is in order too.
The car will come with an accumate trickle charger and protective cover.
I will be sad to see her go, but I would hope the next owner has experience with cars like this, as it really is not for the feint hearted!!
I am not interested in swapping or trade off"s this is a cash sale. If I am made an offer during the auction then the listing may be cancelled, as I do have it advertised elsewhere. Viewings welcome, this car really is worth seeing in the flesh. However I will only allow viewings and test drives to people who are in a position to buy the car, I will not be tolerating time wasters, people who don"t quite have the money, or people looking to fill time at the weekend.
