vehicle description:

Volvo V70 T5 estate, 2.3L petrol turbo, 250bhp.

Good points:
12 months MOT (passed last week, no advisories). MOT now expires 30/07/17.
Well maintained. Extremely smooth, comfortable and powerful.
133,500 miles, in daily use.
Full service history from new, Volvo service book fully stamped, all receipts from my ownership, previous MOTs etc.
Dual zone climate control (works perfectly, ice cold for summer, excellent demist in winter)
Leather interior, heated front seats work great
Cruise control, steering wheel operated
5 speed auto with winter mode (standard auto, not "geartronic")
HU 803 stereo, radio and 4 CD changer, 13 speaker pro logic with central dash speaker - superb sound
4x EW and SR
Rear parking sensors
OE load cover, dog guard, shopping / storage tray under boot floor etc.
Recent maintenance– all receipts available and photos of most work:
14/02/15 (126,xxx) – Wiper blades all round (Euro parts, Bosch parts)
18/02/15 (126,xxx) – Michelin PS3 225/45R17 94Y tyres all round (Tyres on the drive). Covered around 6k miles as car had winter wheels on for a few months.
21/04/15 (126,xxx) – Brake fluid flush / replace
04/07/15 (127,xxx) – Front discs and pads replaced with Pagid parts (standard 305mm discs), driveshaft to hub bolts replaced (genuine Volvo)
25/07/15 (128,xxx) – Rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes replaced (genuine Volvo)
23/08/15 (128,824) – New waterpump, cambelt kit, coolant (all genuine Volvo – note: coolant 10 year life)
19/09/15 (129,272) – Auto transmission fluid sump dump / refill number 1. (4 litres genuine Volvo oil = £50/4L!)
25/10/15 (129,xxx) – Lower front engine mount / torque rod (genuine Volvo)
31/10/15 (129,673) – Pollen filter (Euro parts, Mann part)
21/11/15 (129,900) – Auto transmission fluid sump dump / refill number 2. (4 litres genuine Volvo oil = £50/4L, again!)
09/04/16 (132,xxx) – New exhaust rear silencer (Euro parts, good quality non=OEM ‘Klarius’ – needed it on a Saturday and Volvo dealer was shut!).
13/05/16 (132,566) – Auto gearbox B4 servo cover replacement, preventative maintenance (genuine Volvo)
13/05/16 (132,566) – Full service, engine oil change, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs (genuine Volvo inc. dealer supplied Castrol Edge 0W-30)
Maintenance note: previous owner was a ex-Volvo master technician and did auto-box Gibbons method flush with 15L of correct fluid sub-100k miles, fitted new front suspension arms and set tracking Dec ‘14, changed oil every 10k max. I’ve kept up the maintenance myself as above.
Bad points:
Auto-gearbox - low rpm shifts 2nd -> 3rd gear are sometimes slow (say below 1500rpm) since I reset the TCM (transmission control module) adaptations with VIDA (Volvo diagnostic software) earlier this month. This is good practice when changing the transmission fluid but I"d never had access to the equipment to do this previously, and wish I hadn"t now! Other gears, and higher rpm shifts are all smooth, and all changes engage fine and car drives normally. I believe the TCM adapts constantly as it"s driven, and this does appear to be the case as the more you drive it, the better the changes get so I will see how it improves but wanted to note it here in case it doesn"t!
I will also change the gearbox fluid again if I get time, as I"ve got a jumbo container of correct JW-3309 spec gearbox fluid which can go with the car (this is quite expensive and can be tricky to find) for future changes.
Drivers electric window switch plastic cracked – still works fine.
Minor cosmetic damage to rear drivers side wheel arch by door, see pic.
Wheels a little tatty close up, but straight, I intended to DIY refurb them in grey
Usual odd stone chips, minor scratches etc. you"d expect on a car of this age.
Alarm service required message popped up two weeks ago. Volvo forums say this is common and siren could need new battery or replacement apparently? I have taken fuse out for now as a precaution as the alarm apparently flattens main batter when this happens.
Reason for sale
After using this daily for around 18 months for work, I"ve changed jobs and now commute by train so no longer need this. Additionally, I have bought an old 850 project instead and have a few other vehicles too so need driveway space!
Offers / Swaps / Test drives
Offers more than welcome, try me. Swaps not welcome I"m afraid, as I already have a replacement older model Volvo as above.
Test drives - no problem with suitable insurance proof, or I"m happy to demonstrate the car.
Questions
Welcome - drop me a line, but absolutely no "what"s your best price?" or "is it faster than my mate"s Corsa" type stuff please. If you want to make an offer, do so, that"s fine. The best price is the one I accept, simple as that! Cash on collection preferred.
