With deep regrets I welcome you to my auction for my 1989 Lancia Delta HF Turbo 1.6 IE.
This Lancia was first registered on Friday 3rd March 1989 near London SE and has had 8 owners prior to me.
When I saw this car for sale I knew it was meant to be. Ever since I was young it has been my dream to own a Lancia Delta.
The previous owner owned the car for approximately 8 years. In recent years the car has benefited from the original recaro interior being fully re trimmed in red and black which complement"s the car.
At some point prior to purchasing the car it has undergone a respray. Due to a lack of preparation there is signs of over-spray. There is a slight idling problem which needs to be addressed. It ticks over faultlessly however sometimes cuts out when the clutch is dipped at a junction. The built in boost gauge doesn"t work, however an aftermarket boost controller has been installed. The near side front wheel bearing does knock and will need replacing. Apart from this the car is mechanically sound, always starts first turn of the key and runs smoothly. The car is never thrashed or abused, just appreciated for what it is.
There is a small chip in the windscreen. There is a crack in the drivers rear light.
The car comes with some subtle changes which include:
Team Dynamics graphite wheels with falcon tyres all round.
Full stainless exhaust system.
Mud flaps.
Front and rear strut brace for added stability.
As Lancia"s go this is a solid example, however it does have its aged related marks and imperfections which is to be expected from a 28 year old car. It is by no means a show car so please don"t expect one.
Many moons ago the car was declared as salvage due to a repair costing more than the value of the car. Most cars of this era were not usually saved due to their value at the time, however this example was. I only found out this upon receiving the V5. Despite this, the car performs correctly, drives straight and handles as it should and doesn"t seem to have suffered any chassis damage.
The car has covered 121,493 miles.
With EVO 2 prices going through the roof in excess of 35k, the Lancia Delta HF Turbo"s will soon follow the same trend.
There is only 25 HF Turbo IE"s left on the UK roads which makes this a very rare car and will only appreciate in value and will make a great investment!
I bought this car with the intention of using it as a daily car. However it attracts far too much attention for my liking.
